Laser Cutting Paper

Paper types and layering

Laser cutting can be used on various types of paper – from thin decorative paper to thicker design or technical paper. Multi-layer cutting is also possible, where parts are cut simultaneously while maintaining consistent shape and dimensions across all copies.
Before production, we evaluate the paper thickness, surface coating, and structure to select appropriate cutting parameters.
An important factor when cutting paper or other materials: the laser cut has its own kerf width. For paper, the cutting kerf is minimal – approximately 0.15 mm.

Precision and applications

This technology is especially suitable for projects where paper serves a visual or representational function. Laser paper cutting is most commonly chosen when the following are important:
Very fine detail,
Clean internal contours,
Precise repeatability in larger quantities,
Complex ornaments or lace-like patterns.

Cut properties and edge appearance

During laser cutting of paper, the cut line is extremely precise. Depending on the paper type and color, slight thermal darkening may be visible along the cut edges. This effect is often intentionally used as a design element; however, if necessary, parameters can be selected to reduce it.

Paper cutting is performed using vector files (DXF, SVG, PDF). If the design is highly detailed, we evaluate line density and fineness before production to ensure stable cutting results.

Do you have questions or are you ready to place an order?

If you have a design or an idea for paper cutting, please submit an inquiry. We will evaluate the paper type, level of detail, and propose the most suitable solution for your project.
