Laser Engraving Glass

Processable Glass Products and Surfaces

Various glass products and surfaces can be engraved using a laser. A CO₂ laser allows precise engraving on both flat and cylindrical objects.
Commonly engraved items include: drinking glasses and goblets, wine and whiskey glasses, bottles, glass awards and trophies, mirrors, and decorative glass panels.
The engraving result depends on the type of glass, surface structure, and thickness. During laser engraving, a subtle frosted effect forms on the glass surface, creating clear contrast and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Precision and applications

Laser engraving allows extremely fine details and clear text to be created on the glass surface. Since the engraving process is performed without mechanical contact, the glass is not pressed or scratched.
Glass laser engraving is most commonly used for:
personalized gifts
engraved wine glasses and drinking glasses
company logos on glass products
glass awards and trophies
promotional and corporate items
Laser technology enables precise transfer of a digital design onto the glass surface, making it possible to engrave both text and complex graphic elements or images.

What Glass Can We Engrave?

We engrave glass products that have a smooth, stable, and easily accessible surface. Glass items with simple shapes are the most suitable for laser engraving.

  • Glass panels
  • Rectangular glass products
  • Cylindrical glasses and containers
  • Straight-sided wine glasses
  • Smooth bottles with flat surfaces

What Glass Do We Not Engrave?

We do not engrave glass products with highly curved, uneven, or unstable surfaces. In such cases, engraving quality may be inconsistent or inaccurate.

  • Highly curved vases
  • Very thin glass products
  • Decorative vases with textured or embossed surfaces
  • Containers with unstable or irregular shapes

Engraving depth and surface appearance

During the engraving process, the CO₂ laser modifies the upper layer of the glass surface. Due to the thermal effect, microscopic structural changes occur on the surface, creating the characteristic frosted engraving effect.

The final appearance depends on the type of glass and its surface properties. Some glass products produce a stronger contrast when engraved, while others result in a softer engraving effect. Glass engraving is performed using provided vector or raster files (DXF, SVG, PDF, JPG, PNG). Before engraving, we evaluate the level of detail in the design and select the appropriate engraving parameters to ensure an accurate and high-quality result.
