Laser Cutting Plywood

Types and thickness of plywood processed

We most commonly cut birch plywood with thicknesses of 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 mm – these are optimal thicknesses that ensure good cut quality. Thicker plywood can also be cut, however, in such cases the risk of defects increases. Painting or staining the plywood does not affect cutting capabilities. We can cut plywood made from any type of wood that has not been specifically treated for resistance. One type that cannot be cut is marine plywood.

Precision and applications

Laser cutting allows precise cutting of both simple and highly complex geometric shapes. Plywood maintains structural integrity even when cutting fine details, making this solution suitable for prototypes, decorative elements, advertising and informational parts, and custom technical components.

Cut properties and edge appearance

We use an advanced plywood cutting method that allows clean cuts without burn marks on either the top or bottom side. No cracks occur during cutting, so the parts remain strong and stable even with fine shapes.

When cutting thicker plywood materials, the cut edges may naturally darken due to thermal effects, but this does not affect cutting accuracy or part quality.
